Info & value for this No5 Mk1 bayonet

    HI,

This is a No. 5 Mk I (actually the later style No. 5 Mk II) Bayonet for the No. 5 Mk 1 Jungle Carbine rifle. I need some educated eyes to provide any additional information and value. Condition is excellent overall, as is the scabbard and frog.

As you can see, it is manufactured by Wilkinson Sword (W.S.C.) and marked with the Britishicon acceptance Broad Arrow. The ricasso is slightly darker in color than the blade, which is unsharpened.

The information that I have is from Bayonets From Janzen's Notebook.

I am considering selling it with or without the rifle. Not sure which would net me the most dollars. What say you about the bayonet appearance, quality and value?

    Thanks!

Selling separate will probably net you the most. Looks to be in excellent condition. Whether refurbished or not is beyond my expertise. Value probably $300+

If I were you I would hold on to it for a while as Royal Tiger Imports apparently received a bunch of these when they bought the Ethiopian rifles and they are selling for $100 a piece with the scabbards. From what I’ve seen of the ones they have they are not in near the condition yours is but I would expect they will at least temporarily depress the market price. Before this $200-$250 easily.

Interesting they are back in stock. I guess that's why they are willing to do an exchange...Ordered the No5 Mk1 bayonet and was sent an AK-47 bayonet. They are paying the return shipping.

Royal tiger seems to list them in quantities of 50. This lot will make 150 no5 bayonets sold so far.

Kind of creeped me out that they have the grips on the display and video example on upside down.

Yeah, went back and looked. Also the sample picture appears to be the one from the video.

Here is what I got. All WSC and worth the price but no threat to the value of the OP’s bayonet.Attachment 107547Attachment 107548Attachment 107549Attachment 107550
