    Winchester T3 Barrel Band WW2

Could someone please sort out, for me, the confusion surrounding T3 bands found on late Winchester carbines? What are correct markings and their size and location? What is/are the correct spot weld sizes and locations on top of the outer band? I know the inner band has the distinctive hump like SA's. Everyone seems to be all over the planet on this. My Winchester is 7.26M. with a W marked band.

You can't be wrong if you go with a Cowles made band with the C centered on the sling swivel.

If I may plug the Carbine Club, that was covered in the news letter #356 with a lot of detail. Best $18 a person interested in Carbines could spend.

    Hooks,

That is a excellent 7 page article with drawings and photos on all type 3 bands.

There was also a great 10 page article in newsletter 355 that mentions type 3 bands found on late 6 & 7 million Winchester's, which rpw7351 has (7.26).

By the way, it was written by the above poster.

Can't say enough about all the information found in those newsletters. #358 should be here soon.

    Jim

It cost me $23 to join a few weeks ago, well worth the price of the newsletter. My only regret is that I wish I'd joined the Carbine Club years ago! Great, up-to-date data for the serious or even casual M1icon Carbine collector.

If members sent in their renewal when it was received in November it was $18.

Hiya Jim! I am late sending in my money, but I have sent in about 18 data sheets. Here's a pic of a T.3 that I think PBI posted on CSPicon two years back ( from the Birmingham Show). Don't know who owns it ? I wish I did. Mikey. N.Z.

Here is a real C marked Win band for sale and it looks really nice. If you are looking for one you know how hard they are to find.

Sellers comments; "It retain all of its original finish and it would be impossible to upgrade the condition".
My best guess the original finish is covered up by fresh bluing. Otherwise, looks good to me.
