first of all welcome to my maiden thread.second, let me state quite clearly this is not a no4(t), it is my replica, repro, homage or call it what you will built to compete at my local club in surplus sniper matches in the spitit of a T
the donor rifle is a 1942 faz no4 mk1/2 ftr'd in1954. the pads, mount and cheek piece are from numrich guncorp in the us, the sling is a repro knox of top quality and stamped milsco 1942, the scope covers are made by a guy in the uk, the scope is a weaver k2.5 tube with more modern k3 internals, the adjustment is of the older clicker type and the graticle is a fine crosshair so the body can be turned through 90' to replicate the no32 setup(windage and elevation become reversed). the sunshade and the adjustment drums were turned down by a mate with his lathe to my specs then araldited and screwed down using existing screws. i knocked it up in my garage over a weekend and it collimated perfectly first time! begginers luck i suppose.
ive used it with great success out to 300m and all up i would estimate it has cost me about $1000aud. having said all that ill admit bidding on several genuine no32,s on evil bay and having set myself a budjet i always get outbid at the last. having read all the posts of late about wanting to build replicas i thought i would show and tell. i still cant manage to post pictures so i mailed them to badger to post for me, so please be patient. and if anyone wants to ask "why?" the answer is cos it was fun!
