    Saginaw S'G' pics

This M1icon came my way from an online auction, it was at a local inner city pawn shop. Pawn shop stated someone sold it to them for $25. It had been found in a closet in an old house. I think it is a genuine bring back, i dont think it has ever seen a collectors hands. It does have two parts that are probably not original to the rifle, but were probably done in the service. It has a adj sight and the hammer has probably been replaced(type 3 marked HI, has a dogleg ding on the TH as well). The adjustable sight shows only one center punch stake to it.

    Receiver marked Saginaw S'G'
    Bolt-SG
    FP-S'G'
    Ext-w S'G'
Slide-T3 (cant find any marks on it)*Finally found a faint S'G'

As I have used before, the famous words of my 13 year old daughter... "I hate you, I hate you, I HATE YOU!!!!!!!"

Congrats on the piece of history!!! Curious as to the condition of the bore and internals of the bolt - did they suffer from the years in the closet?

Its too bad you didn't the story of the how the carbine got into the closet in the first place... if only these pieces of history could tell us where they have been....

    Curt,
From what I can see of the serial # it came from the SG-S'G' split block.
    # shows 3,58?,???

Its too bad the pawn shop got it first, i didnt exactly get off cheap. If i wouldnt have been able to personally go and inspect the rifle, i probably would not have bid on it as much as i did. Added some more pics of the internals. No other marks on the front sight, other than the N. The rifle pretty much just had some areas of surface rust on the outer surfaces. The bolt was still well preserved, internally. The bore is free from any pitting. All of the TH components are free from rust or pitting.
