Sling Well stamp on QHMC,Anyone know what it is?

This stock resides on a Minty original 4.85mil QHMC, Obviously its a RSG lateral support stock, wondering what the other symbol means, was it put there by Quality or the stock maker? Is it a Q maybe? Any thoughts?

If the "Q" is there then the "Q" is for Quality Hardware.

Pretty sure it's a Q on it's side. I have seen this before on RSG stock with a QHMC cartouche.
I'm not sure who put it the though. There was a modified highwood on a gunbroker auction a while back wiu the same marks. I believe it was an inland in it.

This is the "Q" it should look like. Your cartouche looks more like a Standard Products???

    Bill,
I think the stock on ebay has a Std Pro acceptance mark on it, doesnt look like a QHMC to me, but of course i could be wrong.

    That's a QHMC CC.
I have a picture here of the same slingwell marking ( the O or Q ) on a original Un-Quality.
The RSG letters are the larger ones you sometimes see.
I've e-mailed the owner of this carbine to ask permission to use the picture first.

    Just to be clear.....
When I said "That's a QHMC CC" I mean the one the OP pictured above. On the 4,85....
Remember many original QHMC's are found on RMC made stocks. With just RMC stamped in the well also.

Thanks Charlie. After I looked at it again I could see that it is the right cartouche. I don't know what I was thinking

The one on ebay looks like a restamp to me.
In the top left pic you can see the original to the left of the large new cartouche. It looks like just a dark spot on the stock
In the bottom left pic you can see the cartouch pretty clear on the left edge of the pic.
The new cartouche does kind of look like a SP cartouche but I don't know if SP used any Q-RMC wood even if the stamping was real. It is to big to be a late QHMC cartouche and to small to be the early large one. Also, I have not seen any QHMC's stamped that far forward on the stock. They are usually back where the dark spot on this stock is. Never say Never, just my observations.

Dave, the eBay stock has it's issues for sure. The previous cartouche shadow is just one of them and the placement of the new one, another. However, I DO believe the Q-RMC in the sling well is correct.

Yes I agree with you on that. The q-rmc looks good to me. It would be a nice buy if you could get it cheap and get the fake stamp off.
