What Frank said!
We'd love to see some details and hear more about it. With enough info we can tell you about anything you want to know about it.
Every family should have a nice Inland like that one.
Welcome to the forum

From what I can see it looks very nice. Type 2 band, C clip sling, milled rear sight, zooming in it looks like a flat bolt. What does the other side look like? High or low wood, stock markings? Have you taken it apart and seen how some of the other parts are marked? If not, when you get time maybe you can break it down some a and take a few more pictures. We do love pictures here.
My stepfather liked me too. But he only left me garage tools.

The serial # is 5714297, as far as the barrel date, how would I find that ? It has some other markings on it, such as. . .
The letter "G", and the # 5 under the barrel behind the gas block.
The letter "T" under the trigger guard.
The #4 in front on the mag well.
The letter "W" on the left side of the hammer.
I'm not sure if any of this means anything, or if these are just simple markings from the manufacturer that have no significance.
Hope this answers some of the questions that has been raised.

I don't think you have a Inland carbine. Ithink you have a Winchester. I think you need to check under the rear sight better. Everything I see except the stock looks like a Winchester to me.

Not only what kar66 is telling you. "The serial # is 5714297" is a Winchester numbers. That block of numbers range from 5,549,822-5,834,618.

I think that might be a Winchester stock. Barrel date would be behind the front sight, but I don't think Win. dated barrels that late.
Irish does the stock have a W stamped in the slingwell? Or any numbers stamped on the bridge? Or a letter stamped on the inside of the right rail?
Thanks for info and pictures.....Frank

I don't see a W stamped on the sling well. Thanks for the correction on the maker as well. I don't know what lead me to think that it was an Inland.
From what everyone can see, what kind of value would this rifle bring. Not that I would sell it, just for my information.
