    Balls

Had to repair a Mk.1 sight for a No.4 rifle and ended up with about 100 extra elevation detent balls. They measure .0934" on a non-Chinese micrometer. These may also work on PH sights but I don't want to disassemble one just to check-maybe someone else can confirm? Anyhow, if you need one or two just PM me.

Steve, you're all that's good about this forum.

Don't forget if you're taking advantage of this offer, to assemble the sight with both hands and sight inside a plastic bag

Useful tip there Peter. I have a bucket in the garage with about 400 Mk1 sights in it, all missing their balls! In fact I recently bought a couple of hundred off 'that' auction site for about a tenner. Completely forgot about Steve's previous kind offer.....

But should they be oiled prior to fitting?

But of course, don't forget, it is possible to get away with having no balls...........if you have a plunger instead.

Thanks Peter, you might recall a pal of mine having a word with a pal of his, & all of a sudden I had about a meter of springy stuff; enough to cut up into.........well, at least a squillion individual sight springs.
