IN 2001, I bought a M1icon from Dean. In 2001, I fired it once and the gun jammed. For a variety of reasons, I did not pick up the rifle until recently to see what is wrong. I compared my M1 to another and saw that the bolt is not going fully forward and thus the stud on the bolt is not going into its notch on the receiver. There is a burr on this end of the barrel and I believe this burr is preventing the bolt from traveling fully forward. I don't believe firing one round would have caused this burr.

I am retired and on Social Security and do not have much discretionary income. I have contacted Dean and asked him to repair the rifle at no cost to me and his position is the M1 is beyond his 1 year warranty.

Can someone tell me how to repair the rifle or if necessary does one know a reasonable M1 gunsmith in the Huntsville AL area?
