Needed rear sight for number 5 MK 1 Jungle Carbine
It looks as though I am going to need a rear sight for my newly aquired Number 5 Mk 1.
Was promased by the seller it was in his posetion and he would provide it but have not seen it yet.
Numrich and a few other sources (including one of the advritisers who does have the correct magizine I need) seem to have the BSA marked rears but no Fazakerleys. Which is curious as there were fare more Fazakerleys produced. My luck. Should I settle for a BSA or try for the F for the sake of "correctness" of an otherwise matching rifle?
Any have one or any suggestions/opinions?

If it's correctness you need Hookey, then so far as an Armourer is concerned, as oppposed to a fanatic or concourse specialist, then the next sight out of the spare parts tray is correct. Concourse is for cars. That's only my opinion as a long in the tooth Armourer who has fixed one or two No5's so I could be wrong. I am trying to wean Lee Enfield forumers away from the fiction side of the Armouirers trade into the real world of the Armourers

So the original sight that Bubba removed was not marked with an F for Fazakerley? I am not completely opposed to the BSA sight as it is the same sight sans the B marking but if I could find one that matched the rifle as produced that would be my prefrence as the rifle seems unaltered otherwise. Other than the Bubba scope holes. I did see one sight marked with a P any knowledge of that mark?
Thanks

Now who said good blokes were a thing of the past.

A large quantity of BSA ones came onto the market some time ago, and I have sold several of them over the years. They probably form the source for most of the NOS ones on the market these days.

Thanks for the replys. Without bothering with details it appears the fellow I purchased the weapon from is a pathalogical liar. Said he would provide the sights but will not return calls etc etc..
But you helpful folks here have restored my faith in humanity.

EarlyFours was kind enough to provide the missing piece of the current crown jewel if my milsurps collection. I might have to rethink my whole opinion of folks from north of the Mason Dixon line.
I am very greatful to him and all those here who fill the many gaps in my knowledge. ( Picture of completed jewel soon)
