I posted this in another thread and someone gave me an idea or two, but I'm not sure what to do here.

I put a new flip safety in there and it did the same thing. It moves freely sometimes but then sometimes, you start to engage it, and it only moves a little bit and gets stuck. So then I tore my whole trigger group down, and there was some gunk in the trigger spring, sear, etc etc, and even a little right above where the safety goes, but I don't think any of that has anything to do with why it's failing to move free to engage.

If you ask me, either the right angle of the steps on the flip safety, where the spring plunger contacts is too sharp, or the spring plunger has a burr or something. But why would it happen with both safeties? Unless it was the plunger. But then again, I pulled that thing out and cleaned it and put it back in. And I have no clue if I reversed it or not. I guess it's only a 50% chance that it went in the opposite way. Either that or both plungers are messed up.

Anyone else have this problem? Do I need to sand that right angle a little to smooth it out. That part on the safety?

I do have a new safety spring with the two plungers on either end coming from Orion7. I only ordered 2 op slide springs and in order to make the $20 minimum, I had to get something else. I think I got that and the mag catch spring and plunger. Figured it wouldn't hurt to replace.

It does seem like both safeties have a tenancy to go right and left a little. Maybe moreso than my other carbine. Would this affect it? When I worked it back and forth looking through the top with the trigger out, it doesn't seem like that should make much of a difference. Hmmmm......
