From my experience, it's your lucky day Simon.

On two counts Peter if I'm not mistaken? A reasonably rare find watch, part of the original 4(T) CES, and someone with the skills to repair a mechanical timepiece.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

Was it part of the original CES. We always had the old WWW (Watches, Wristlet, Waterproof) wristwatches in my time

Apologies for the crappy photo alignment but I didn't want to damage the spine of the manual I scanned it from, the same pic is on page 146 of "The Britishicon Sniper". The photo shows a layout of issued items and No9 is clearly a G.S.T.P. pocket watch.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

I lost out on a bid a while back on a GSTP Omega... but the marking on the back was or seems standard compared to that one. (being a past owner of a Speedmaster Professional, Omega ticks all the box's for me)

I had (brother stole it, I mean has it) an Elgin with a black radium dial, but it was only marked with a serial number on the back.
Yes, Omega's are one of my favourites.

Got that Simon. Yep, that 1951 sniper Inf Trg book was well before my time

Ah, yes, Omega. We had a saying about them when we had them coming through our instrument shops.
If you are simply rich, then get a Rolex (we didn't have Army Rolex's...).
If you were rich with style, then get an Omega (which we had)
If you are rich with style and want reliability, then get a Longines (which we also had).

Strangely, some of our issue WWW Omegas didn't have the name on the dial, just the number 10033. This was the VAOS number of W10-VB 10033 that indicated an Omega wristwatch
