    Sa m1 garand

    Hello

I need some help, one time more but today I have the opportunity to buy a M1icon GARAND.
I know that this one was rebuild, certainly in the 50'.
    The known data are:

    SA Sn° 302....

    Mounted BOLT is D28287 P.B
    Offered Additional BOLT 6528287-SA J-1-B
    HANDLE D35382 SA ?
    Trigger guard D28290-12-SA
Gas cylinder lock screw T PAX
    Receiver D282291-34 ?
    Barrel M6535448 MARLIN P

What is your opinion about this Garand ?
There are no markings remaining on the wood (has been sanded)

An Original shooter is impossible to find here in Franceicon...and I'm looking for a shooter as close as possible to an original one.

    Best regards

Seems to be a parts gun which is fine for shooting. Condition is everything and we can't see it. Providing it checks out fine by a qualified gunsmith, familiar with these rifles, it should shoot fine and be a good addition to your collection.
    Regards, Jim

Thank you Jim, I will ask the seller if I can post some pics...
Sorry, I forgot to specify that national match sights are mounted.(I don't know if that will give a greater value to the rifle.)
    Regards

Depends on what you mean by original. If by that your looking for a rifle with all original parts then you would be ultra lucky to find that anywhere. Plus I wouldn't recommend shooting it. Most of our shooters are put together rebuilds, or restorations and such. As Jim said if it functions and a gunsmith gives it the green light its a good one. You can always replace the non- SA parts with SA parts if you wanted to, although it isn't necessary for a good shooter, that's just preference.

Depends if the NM sights are accompanied by a NM rifle, then they'll be worth more.

I wouldn't worry anyway, you have a shooter and it's going to be more valuable to you for that purpose.
