    Jovino Enfield 1945 Questions.

Jovino Lithgowicon 1945 about two years ago. Have disassembled and found all the proof marks and numbers. But somethings are questionable. The serial number is found on the back side of the bolt handle, the right side of the knox form and the right side of the barrel reinforce.
The number is 25837 but there is no prefix letter. The barrel is dated 9 44 on the left side of the reinforce but the numbers 12 and 64 are found on the opposite. There are no markings on the butt stock. Brass recoil plates are present on the recoil draws of the forestock. No numers on forestock or the front sight. The standard Lithgow proof mark is on the barrel and receiver.
    Thanks for any information. EnfieldJohn

What is the date on the wrist? The serial number prefix would/should be F and the serial number slots in to 1944. like these......

Unless it is a Jovino bitsa, only pic's will determine that.

John a 1945 Lithgowicon from the factory would have butt markings and serial numbers as shown in these few photos. There may be possibilities to explain your rifle and it's origins, but photo's would help a great deal. Otherwise its just speculation.

The numbers only demonstrate the location. They aren't 1945

Muffer, disregarding the absence of the letter prefix, are you suggesting the number puts this action into 1944?

This is another of those '.....will you fix my car please' without telling the man what the problem is.

The S/N falls midway in the '44 production, but without us seeing the wrist date or possible Jovino stamps, we are only grabbing at straws as PL suggests.
    Pic's are in order.
