This might verge on politics, but 'left behind' is a very relative term. Consider what was actually owned by or donated/given to the previous government in that country - choose your country - and what was really 'left behind' by another country's departing military.

The Taliban arguably hate the Russians much more than they do the US. I've thought about what it would like like if the Taliban donated a bunch of what we left behind to Ukraine.
