Late to the party but hope that another data point might be useful.
SN 94L66xx, '50 barrel, action and barrel are blued. Striker looks painted (Suncorite?).

I just picked up one yesterday. 92L 6189. All blued. Has "Alpha, can't recognize city, Ohio " importer stamp that is stamped to left of C Long Branch Mk1star on receiver. It is in like new condition and has all of the CA inspection marks I have seen on this site. However, what is strange is it has a Savage front barrel band, with the capital S on the left side. Wonder how that came on this rifle? Bluing on band is matching for age and wear, so I am assuming the band came with the rifle or has been there a long time. I am a brand new member as of last night. Collected mil slurps for fifty years.

Mebailj, Your rifle was imported for Southern Ohio Guns in Lebanon, Ohio the late '80's, early 90's. All of the remaining parts from WWII Savage/Stevens production were sent to Long Branch when the contract was completed in 1944. Savage parts are common on 1945-1950 production rifles from LB/CAL. My advice is leave it be as factory original. Brian

Thanks Brian. I will certainly leave it as it is. I had a feeling leftover parts were sent to Long Branch. Thanks for the advice/info .

I just bought this one- Serial 93L8779
1950 receiver date, definitely parkerized receiver, bolt, striker, and barrel.
Barrel date is also 1950.
Interesting, quite visible are mixed blued parts and assemblies, like the blued Mk 3 sight assembly, and safety.
