My past next door neighbor flew Hudsons during the last war. He had a story about them having a tendency to ground loop on landing and break in half...and burn. He had just finished warning a trainee when the trainee did that very thing. They both survived.

By the way, the T-28 Trojan is considered the most complex prop plane on the planet to fly because virtually EVERYTHING on the plane is hydraulic. More HERE. A proper transition into the plane can take three days because operational and emergency procedures are so complex.

Back in the '70s my Civil Air Patrol squadron (Knoxville Composite Squadron) was assigned one. It mostly sat on the hardstand with very few hours because it was so complex and expensive to operate. We transitioned to the L-19 Bird Dog and it proved both far easier and far cheaper to operate. However, the Air Force found the Trojan to be a great little ground attack plane when they added hard points and control systems under the wings so that bombs and pod-mounted 20mm cannons could be mounted.

We have two that fly out of our local airport here in Sidney BC. When I went to Cozumel, there was one as a monument at the old US airbase there.

The local Military Aviation Museum has a flying example.
