It shoots very well and I shoot it a lot. I can hit the NRA 300 meter pigs with it offhand. It is the loudest rifle I have ever heard.

When I was an SP/ Armorer in the AF Reserve ANG in the late 70s, early 80s (after Army active duty), we had GAU5/A/As with 11.5" barrels. Some had moderators, some just had birdcages. The ones with birdcage FH were loud as heck, and had massive fireballs, despite the flash hider. Most of the technicians (full time reservists) who worked full time as SPs liked the 14.5 inch GAU5s, which we also had.
BTW, The ones with just flash hiders, we open the gas port up to .107" (if I recall) because they didn't perform as reliable as the moderators. I think the moderator acted like an expansion chamber on a Krinkov.

I haven't measured the port on mine but it must be pretty good because this rifle runs flawlessly and it really is fun to shoot.
