I seem to remember reading something about some walnut stocks being used later but I don't remember where and I can't find anything on them now. The stock will most likely be dated 1943 as that's when it was made but the serial would not be applied until it was matched to a rifle so it should match. Good luck. I haven't seen many mismatched K31's but as the numbers of available rifles get smaller, they seem to be turning up now.

Well I DID ask them to wait until after Independence Day to ship the rifle, so I’d be home from vacation.
Well, I just got email that shipping charges have been charged to my card. So I guess it should be on the way soon!

Just curious to hear from the group.
What are the typical going prices everyone has been seeing for K31’s in decent shape at gun shows, auctions or generally anywhere? My first K31 cost $99. That was a minute ago.

Auction wise I would say $550 would be a good base price. Otherwise the Centerfire Systems K31s with no mag went for $450 last year. Bowman Armaments which was a new seller sold K31s for $450 as well at the beginning of this year. Those rifles had magazines at least.

I don’t feel too bad then. Winning bid was $400. It goes up some though with fee and shipping. Still, it’s in the reasonable ball park I suppose.
I believe the rifle arrives today. ?

A friend provided the following translation.
Dahlia Fritz who was 34 beat a guy who was 68 with this rifle when he made fun of her Schnitzel
Or something close to that.

Another friend who speaks German made this effort at translating the tag.
Name:fritz sahli
Foot infantry- company W?
Maybe rifle number is 68 or the 34 number above
Address: Ur-dorf is originating village
At Schoenhime Strasse #3
Possibly the town is actually named ‘Urdorf’ that literally translates as the village that is as old as Ur of the Chaldes in the Old Testament.

What are the chances Mr. Sahli’s family still lives at the same address? It would be interesting to contact them. It would be helpful if they speak English. I don’t, Parle, Deutsch.
