Just checked a take off drilled barrel stub from a 1910 and the thread is 10 TPI square, right hand. Major diameter is 1.105, minor diameter is 1.065. Barrel shank length is 0.695, with no relief groove and barrel outside diameter is 1.305. Used the remainder of the barrel on a 1905 by boring out the barrel stub and silver soldering the barrel into the stub as could not cut the 1905 threads on my lathe (approximately 3TPI buttress thread) which has worked well.

A couple minor clarifications to DocAV's last post. Not all Ross MkIIIs acquired by India were DP'd, some were used in other capacities, and unlike the MkII, there is no barrel lock screw on the MkIII. The screw and pin on the bottom of the MkIII receiver is what the 1913 Handbook calls the Bolt Unlocking Pin and screw. I think it is more properly called a bolt locking pin as it is what initiates the bolt head turning anti-clockwise into the locking grooves. If one looks into the rear of the receiver it is apparent that the pin is well aft of the barrel stub. Regards. Tom

The MkII no-star I have is definitely buttress thread, left hand. Pretty close measurements between Tiriaq and DoCav. Recheck and resolver whether Square 10TPI RH or 12 TPI RH.

Had another look at the shank of a Mk. III barrel. Used a thread gauge to measure, shank is 12tpi.
