No I don't think so. The P would have been centered in the circle and this circle is not quite round in shape.

BAR,
Other than someone wondering if this WRA might have been early enough to of had a Circled P Proof, I don't see any input that it's a Original marking from anyone.
I've been looking for any others that may have been reported stamped like this.
I don't believe it was put there to fool anyone. Thoughts being... Someone thought it looked cool, like stocks that were getting Checkered back over 35 years ago.
Other thought is having this stamp made it easier to ID and find in a rack of carbines.
If mine, I'd be sanding it off.

Just wondering if there might have been a Winch circle P mark under the PW stamp/carving. See that is not the case here as it must be a later stock. If carved whittlers gotta whittlle.

Oh yeah, that is the circle p mark.
Always preferred Worcestershire but A1 will do.
