And the new price increase and limits will change this how?

This ammo is worth about a dollar a round in the open market.
I mean, .30-06 premium ammo (if you can find it) is selling at above $40 a box of twenty. So this has to be worth at least half that price!
We are buying (at the old price) for less than fifty cents a round, so there should be no complaining.
As for gunshow sellers, I say sell them all they want! Let them put it in the supply line somewhere at some price. It's better than seeing it go to the incinerator, which is where Obama/Biden will send it along with all remaining stores of carbines and M1
's.

CMP gets its rifles from the Army, but not ammunition. It procures its own ammunition.

You are correct of course on that. However, don't be surprised to see limits on the import of military ammunition though. They've already done that with China.
If the CMP goes back to buying mil spec ammo from a civilian contractor like they did with Federal a few years ago expect to pay at least a dollar a round.

I expect surplus 30'06 to all be $1.00 plus per round when the CMP
runs out.

Will Rogers said years ago..."Buy land..they don't make anymore of it"..or something like that.
At any rate 30.06 isn't the standard anymore and the Military isn't using it anymore. The proper term should be "Salvage Ammo" not "MILSURP" ammo.
Hair-splitting aside there is a finate supply with rapidly demonitioning stock and increasing demand. Economics 101
Another (little known) Will Rogers saying is "you'll pick the corn outta Cow Sh-t if your hungery enough"

Even if the surplus 30-06 runs out someday, there is still a huge demand for it out there. Some company will start making M2 Ball again like the PMC M2 Ball that was once available.
Except for the headstamp, it was indistinguishable from US GI M2 Ball. Had the proper 150gr FMJ bullets, annealed necks and the crimped, lacquer sealed primers.

Ammo
Ammo 30-06 is going up it might come down a little but the day of .30 to .40 a round are just about over. I would guess once CMP
runs out you'll see .60 - to $1.00 a round. Stock up now this is the good old days...
