Here are some pics of my latest find. This is the rifle I was trying to get a value on and thanks to the folks here I made the purchase. Have some questions to the stock. Appears to be a Remington by the markings in front of the magazine cover but I have never seen a "S" on the end of the stock. It appears to have the flaming bomb stamp which is very light. Best I could do for the pics in that area. Please advise. Thanks!
The stock is indeed a late Remington M1903 stock (not M'03-A3). The flaming bomb on the fore end tip appears on all Remington stocks from that period. I don't recall having seen the "S" marking before, so one can only speculate what it means. But it is not a standard Remington marking.
Nice rifle! Thanks for sharing!

p.s.,
Your rifle also appears to be fitted with a Smith-Corona M'03-A3 bolt and an M'03-A3 trigger and stacking swivel.

Thanks John! I knew the stacking swivel was for an A3. The bolt is marked H0 35 on top. No pic, spaced as you see. I thought the Smith Corona had a X on the top. ?????

Thanks for the clarification. Your rifle's bolt was made at Springfield Armory during WWII. It is not a Smith-Corona bolt. I guessed at the identity based on what I could see. And you are correct that most SC bolts have an "X" atop the handle.
I have a Rock Island 1903, serial number 398,xxx. It has a Springfield barrel dated 05/18. I emailed the Rock Island Arsenal Museum and got a response as per the attached file.
