Harlan, I too have a type 26 9mm Jap. Yours has the original grips and probably didn't go through a prewar rebuild. It is did it would have grips like mine. The hammer is case hardened and has the color to it. The action on these is for sh! t!!! The cylinder does not lock and can/will turn when you least expect it to. This is mine and it has the original holster also.

Several years ago I paid $400 for just a pistol. I would say the pistol, holster, lanyard and bring back papers would be around $1000. I gave $750 not long ago for a T14, with holster, lanyard, bring back papers, extra firing pin and cleaning rod and thought I got a bargain. 14's are not near a scarce as 26's.
