Thank you for the info. Would you know approximate worth after the restoration?

I love my original Inland, but also understand that my upgraded mix-master is also "as issued" at a later date. What says it best is that the original Inland sits in the safe, being fired occasionally. The Standard Products I use daily as a Patrol Carbine for my security contract job. It is a better weapon because of the upgrades.
Probably 98% of the carbines now went through at least one military rebuild, and were re-issued to the troops. Virtually all of the carbines issued in Korea and Vietnam were rebuild "as issued". You weapon is correct, even in its upgraded state, for a later time period. Not correct for Normandy, but correct for Pork Chop Hill or the I Drang valley...

Anyone Willing to take a guess?
1- Underwood

3- QHMC
4- Stan Pro
5- IBM
My guess........... IBM

First, let me say you guys sure have a way of making the new kid feel welcome. Thanks for all the great info so far. Something tells me that before too long I will have to start attending meetings of Carbiner's Anonymous.

That is a very clean carbine. It should be a great shooter. While a restoration would be nice, I doubt that you coiuld recoup the big dollars it cost to restore a 5 digit to "original" as the very early parts are VERY expensive. A real dogleg early Inland hammer is in the hundreds of dollars for hammer alone. Mucho dollars for the rest of the early trigger housing group, also. I'd enjoy it as a superb shooter, as is. After all, someone carried it, sometime, just as it is. Who knows, maybe it fought at the Chosin Reservoir in Korea?

That's the way I see it. People are trying to get all matching parts but it may have been used by a war hero just the way it is. 2 different kind of collectors historians and $ value .

I am not concerned about all matching parts, per se. I am more concerned about having a good shooting rifle that I can enjoy, while at the same time keeping it AS original as possible. I so appreciate the history and the brave soldiers who may have used it. Here's a few pics

IIRC the only maker that used the "fabricated" trigger housing, or at least the ONLY MAKER of the "fabricated" trigger housing, was IBM.
P.S. WELCOME to the jungle! Come on in we don't bite . . . much.

Is a "fabricated" (IBM) trigger housing a good thing? Since I am a rookie at this, I don't often know what is desirable and what is not. I will try to start disassembly this evening. Thanks again for the comments.
