Thank you everyone for answering my questions!
I got a few clips and some ammo ordered.
I am not expecting tack driver accuracy out of this so it should be a fun shooter.

They can be accurate, just not with the ammo that is currently available. Lee Harvey Oswald didn't have much trouble with accuracy, neither did the Military History Channel marksman testing the rifle type to prove or disprove the grassy knoll theory. He had no difficulty replicating Oswald's shots.
Reloading is the way to go with these. I have yet to hit the paper with Privi ammunition and I have a good bore.

Loading your own is definitely the ONLY way to go for ANY Carcano.
Partizan makes the brass and it is okay, but the correct BULLET is made only by Hornady and it is a 160-grain .267" jobbie. It works just FINE.
SOMETIMES you will find a Carcano with a relatively tight bore. I have a very tight Model 41 which shoots groups that most guys just will not believe.... and do it with bulk-pack Remington 140s.
Also, I have been experimenting with the Remington 140 bullet and a very FAST powder. The original Ballistite was very fast and extremely energetic; I find that I can more-or-less duplicate it with IMR-4198 in a slightly-reduced loading. It gives the bullet a good kick on its back end, makes it obturate and seal the bore, improves accuracy. It might be worth trying, but be careful, okay?
Get it shooting and it ought to be a DANDY little rifle for whitetail or even (with a flatbase 120 seated 'way out and 4198) for quick snap shots at antelope.
If you decide to restore it, get onto Springfield Sporters' website. They have parts and they are not terribly expensive.
Most important of all: enjoy.
