Because they are easier to clean with no gas system.
$105 shipped for non corrosive HXP in a SPAM can is a better deal, than the same amount of corrosive in a SPAM can.

Would just require cleaning the gas cylinder and the end of the op rod a little better, I would think. You're going to clean them, anyway.

WHy do people have such and adverse regard for cleaning their guns? Is it THAT difficult or such a laborious disliked chore? And this negativity to "corrosive" ammo.......Just clean your gun! You can do it while watching tv. The only extra step is to run something through the gun to neutralize the slats....Windex with ammonia works. well....or hot soapy water....same thing I used to clean my black powder guns with. Seems that gun owners only like their guns if they don;t have to take care of them. I would think that gun owners who take such pride in their guns would enjoy taking care of them as well. That's just me.
Here's a good start:

i looked up using windex to remove corrosive deposits from a rifle ,and found a article where the author highly recommended this product. i ordered two cans. anybody use windex besides for cleaning windows .
Just use hot water to clean out corrosive salts. Its all I do and I have never had a issue in any of my firearms (from Mosin to Mausers, to SVT-40s). Some people get all fancy with the ammonia etc, but overall it isn't needed and is just a waste of time and money.
