    Torched DR barrel

This is what was on the DR I got. I'd not consider restoring it to .30-06. I suppose it could be lined as a .22 RF.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I would agree with you on the barrel you pictured, but it's not what mine looks like.

admited, som DP rifles were not trully DP modified, iv had some that were filled with epoxy of some kind, as well as the cutoff glued down..you know i made that one shoot.
iv seen serveral others with no plug in the bore, but rough in the chamber area, likely from a rod at one time..
use common sinse and practice range safety at all times..

A while back I believe the CMPicon was selling non-serviceable rifles and or drill rifles. This was 6 or 7 years ago. I ordered on because they were inexpensive. When I received it, the only thing that had been done to it was the bolt face was welded. No welds on the receiver or barrel and no plug in the barrel. Needless to say the bolt went by to the old bolt bucket and a new bolt installed. Head spaced perfect and shoots great.
Now this is the exception not the rule.
