    Well, now I'm still confused. I did the "drill bit" test followed by a caliper reading at a different store. The #48 bit, .076", just fit. The caliper's reading was .073" (#49) "give or take a few thousand's of an inch." So it is no doubt a larger hole than the run of the mill fake.

    I need a cigarette after such a good "hump" if this is not legit.

    I'd be happy to tomorrow. I'm assuming that you want to see the view between the base and the flip (moved halfway) from head on?

    Guys, I am sticking with my original gut feeling. Notice how the end of the leaf spring is "chopped" and unfinished.

    I have photos of one just like that and it was pointed out a fake by three of the carbine gurus we have here. The side machining marks, spring and some other characteristics are what sway me.
