Mark, remember that you only use 2-3 SMALL drops of the chamber oil and obviously you never dry fire the rifle (instant ruination potential). You can partially (or fully) move the cocking arm up and down to spread the lube. I would even leave it overnight, then shoot it with a pellet. You may even get a couple shots that will "detonate" the lube (bang) no big deal unless you overlube. Shoot the rifle into an old phone book. An inch or so penetration should be about right as far as power goes. rough estimate anyway. . gpod luck.

It's been decades since I fired my FWB 124. Under the Feinwerkbau wording on the side of the rifle is the word Oldendorf, whatever that means.

I have a brochure called PELLETS AND PISTON with it as well as a TECHNICAL REPORT sheet from Beeman's. It said to use 3 to 4 drops of Chamber oil every 500 rounds and 10 drops of Compression spring oil every so often using the application needle. I have three plastic bottles of spring oil and one bottle of chamber oil from Beemans. I assume the oils are still good after 20+ years. I have those cleaning pellets, too, which the directions say to use 4 at a time to fire through the barrel to clean the bore lest the dryfire effect happens.

I also have the original rear open site and front sight cylinder apparatus that I took off to put on the Williams peep site apparatus and front sight apparatus with multiple front sight posts.

I have one box of Beeman Silver Jet pellets, too, on inventory.

I have a postage mark on a box containind my supplies marked 1981. So, I figure I bought the rifle in 1981 from Beeman's.

You and others have rekindled my interest in quality air rifle shooting after 20+ years.

NOTE: Beeman tech report says some FWB rifles may have lowered power if shipped to some countries but said if the rifle has the Beeman word on it, this guarantees the rifle is FULL powered. My rifle is such.

For older ones you have to pay these price range, sometimes more sometimes less. It depends on the maker and the model. I only can speak for my region and at the local gunsmith you can have used air rifles in max. up to 100€. The market isn´t very big only the match air rifles has a greater market and price. You have to pay for good ones up to 1200€. The most peoples that shoot not in a gun club with air rifles do only plinking and they buy new ones with cheap scopes mounted for around 250€ chinese made and around 450€ german or italian made ones. I had a FWB "Weitschuss-Luftgewehr " that means a stronger one, that sound like a .22 and i sold it for 60€ after a long time waiting for an customer. So that sounds like a good trade buy this rifles here and have this profit.

Hallo Thomas, Not a german but speak a good german. 60 - 80 € are 90 - 120 $. The air rifles will do a lot of fun when you remove the mmhh i dont know the correct english word. But try it this way. On the front end of the cylinder is most time a plastic washer that reduces the volume of the air that goes in the barrel. Without that thing or with one with an bigger hole in it the bullet becomes more power and it shoot a little better.
