I went to look at the 43 Garand
today I was going to take it as part of a trade for my M1C which was a 51 rebuild with a original scope mount ,a Alaskan scope in the correct serial number range for a 51 rebuild a hart flash hider and a 52 dated check pad. the 43 looked go all correct parts, metal matched for color and finish, good bore. the barrel was a 5 43 the buttstock had a GAW cartouch and was striped but not sanded. I think a GAW would The deal was his rifle and 5 K for my C. I backed out of the deal I do not need the money and just was not that excited about the 43 as I have a 42 lend lease already. I do not know if I made a mistake by passing up the deal or not

Specify you will only accept a 1-2 million serial number. You will be very happy for about half the money. I fully realize dealers pump their products like crazy. But you need not go crazy spending in these times.
When did the CMP start filling custom orders? I thought it was still luck of the draw. I know you can attach a sticky note and if what you request is among the first couple of rifles in the pile you might get it, but I had not heard you can specify you will ONLY accept a certain range. If rifles in that range are not available do they just cancel the order and send your check back?
