Tom, a question. Did you fill the rebate from the magazine cut off lug. If you didn't how would you recomend to do it.

Do the No5's have the lug removed? No I didn't fill it, but if I were to, I'd cut a close fitting patch and clamp and glue it in with the correct grain orientation. I hadn't noticed this and so i probably wouldn't bother. I'll have to check mine to see 1, if the lug is removed and 2,if the cutout is removed in the original furniture.

Well Done! I am very jealous - i am in the process of "cleaning up" a 1943 Maltby, really just stripping back and giving it a hit with BLO
