I was looking for a L42A1 Sniper for my son. he is a Canadianicon Soldier (PPCLI) laying in bed with cancer and told me he wanted a Lee Enfield sniper rifle. Is this one still on auction or for sale?

Nice bit of kit, possibly out of my price range, but while looking at a No4 T (see link below) it was the serial number that rang a few bells, its 525 rifles older.

You're right Brian. I was wondering what he meant at the start. What is a brand new IWS, in the correct box worth in the US Brian?

Before you ask, the correct box/chest for the IWS should be the larger dark green box that caters for the Auto Brightness Control (the ABC unit). But it's all pretty academic. The correct box is shown on an article I wrote a couple of years ago

It's hard to determine value as the original IWS scopes are very rare over here in the USAicon. I know I wouldn't part with mine for anything less than a King's ransom!

The L8 sight is known as the CWS (common weapon sight) and will fit on virtually anything. The L96 is obsolete now and the narrow sight rail caused a few interchangeability problems that could only be solved with an adaptor rail - which then raised the CWS a bit. All solved now though
