I posted this in another thread- but I'll put it here, since this is where my rifle pics are already posted:
Is this what is considered the Greek "black" parkerizing? It doesn't appear especially black to me, and it doesn't appear especially green, either.
Thanks in advance,
-Mike
Mike, thats GI park, either zinc or manganese. It's hard to tell as the flash alters the color. Try some pics outdoors in natural light.
That's USGI park; the Greek is nearly jet black & wears easily. The mtal appears perfect; the stock is in well-above average fro a Greek return. You have a very nice rifle!
I'm very pleased to have gotten a Greek return with both the USGI park and a walnut stock.
My (5) M1books and various tools and goodies arrived in the mail from Fulton Armory yesterday. Can't wait to sit down and start reading.

great gun, are you happy now?
Picked up an M1942 bayonet at the gun show a few weeks back. It's a cut-down 1943 American Fork & Hoe, also stamped AFH for the modification.
I always told myself I wanted an M1bayonet and not a cut down 16"...but whoever did the work on this one did a beautiful job. The blade was so nice that I just had to get it instead of the crappier condition M1 that was the same price on the seller's table.
I know it's too early for my '54 Garand, but I like it!
Yesterday I also found a full 192 round Lake City ammo can in enbloc clips and bandoliers dated Jan. 1967. (9 months before I hit the scene!)
