Check out the bore. Make sure that the bolt is not sporting a #3 bolt head. Is it import marked? Etc. Heck it's a pawn shop, if they are quoting $350, they are probably only in it for $150. "Wow, I was really looking for an Enfield with some history; you know a WWII era rifle that has some character. This is nice, but it looks like it never left Toronto. Mmmm, would you take $250?" Settle for $300. If they are quoting you under the price tag, they have probably been sitting on it a while already. Heck, if they say no, walk out. Visit them again in two weeks and see if it is still there. "Wow, you still have that post-war Enfield? It's growing on me, but not at that price."
You have nothing to lose. Just my $.02
"Self-realization. I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"

Pawn shops will work for you best if you first become known to them as agood customer- THEN you get the deals. Plus, quit worrying about what THEY paid for anything- if they're not mking money, they won't be there long- I have seen many fail over the years.
