Questions about a Quality Hardware M1 Carbine

Yep, I guess its ok for post-war commercially produced carbines to pretend that they are USGI, but I don't know what to think about USGI carbines being made to look like post-war commercial carbines?!?!?!

Ok, I pulled it out from the back of the safe. Here is the 3rd Generation Universal. (Embarassed to admit I own it, now ya'll have evidence .) The receivers were pre-drilled for the scope mount on the left side. The holes should match. Guess you can always find the mount since the damage is already done to your receiver.

Samandglove, I hope who ever did that to your QHMC carbine receives the capital punishment. Please send me an invitation to the hanging....

Tired Retired - I really appreciate you going above and beyond to identify my problem. I just couldn't fathom why someone would try and "modernize" this rifle.

samandglove1, welcome to the forum. Before people started collecting carbines and when they were cheap seams like everyone had to custom them up. Scopes, carved I cut stocks etc. To bad but it happened. If you go the filler screw option you could use a dremill to remove the screw heads, or look for headless screws. You could also fill the holes with JB weld. Good luck, and let us see some pics of how it turns out.....Frank
