Many of the US scopes used on the Viet Nam issue rifles were commercial Redfields and bore no other markings. I'm speaking from an article by Frank DeHaas, I don't know much more about it.
Shepherd Scopes also claims that the marines either use or have used their scopes as well. bearhunter
Thanks for the reply BearHunter.
However I'd like a issued type scope with a BDC dial.
Not sure if those models have that ??
Dimitri
the shepherd has a bdc dial
Oh Neat didnt know that BearHunter!

Well I was browsing Ebay and bought:
Zielfernrohr Hensoldt Z 24 4 x 24 scope zeiss military - eBay (item 150212544593 end time Feb-04-08 17:19:32 PST)
Dimitri
Got the scope in the mail yesterday, and looks to me it was range scope, don't think based on how its finish "wore" down that it really saw any use outside of a range. Seems to be all adjustment dials from fingers rubbing it off, and from the hard plastic case while being carried around.
Just need to figure out what to do with the Claw mount now.

Humm, now after being able to play with the sights of my M1AI'm starting to think I'm going to go with no optics on this rifle. I'm really liking its iron sights.
