I meant the bayonet boss (we call it the bayonet standard here.....) Villliers, not the actual flash eliminator! It has been cut off on the uzz75's pictures shown above. If you want to replace one on yours, just say and I'll mention how my friend did it on his sporterised No5

The bayonet boss was cut in Germanyicon many years ago. (On Germany few years ago was not allowed to have bayonet boss).
Here in Italyicon we didn't had this restriction, but the rifle was imported from Germany.

Yes i'd like to repair/change it.

I was looking for some reseller of Enfiled Nr5 parts but i didn't found any thing.
I can just weld something but i'd like to change all the flash hidder.

I don't think that Springfield Sporters will ship internationally. I think NUMRICH will: http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...spx?catid=5833

I´d be very grateful if you could spread the light on how to take the whole thing off without ruining the barrel.

I think I mentioned taking the Flash Eliminator off in a previous thread Villiers. I'm sure someone will call it up but we used a nickel shaped press tool that fitted............ anyway, lets see what comes up!

As a matter of interest Villiers, why weren't you allowed to have bayonet standards on the rifles in Germanyicon? Seems strange that you can freely own the rifles but no bayonet?

I don't know the exactly the law, but few years ago in Germanyicon many ex-war rifle can be sold only without bayonet boss.
Here in Italyicon there are many rifle came from Germany with "old style" acceptance mark and without bayonet boss, not only enfield.
Example many Mosin Nagant 1891-30 from Germany stock don't have the bayonet. (1891-30 don't jave the bayo, but usualy is sold with the own bayo)

Couldn´t find it in the `search´ feature. The law still only permits `sports´ shooting ... even though the relevant competition categories stipulate `Ordonanz´ (military issue) rifles. And circumcision of the bayo lug was considered proof of the `sports´ intent. But the law´s more lenient now (of course most of the No. 5s have been mutilated in the mean time). Ones WITH the lug usually fetch a noticeably higher price. Thus the need to develop a reliable (and, if possible, easy) method of re-fitting with a Numrich replacement flash hider & lug.
