Being one of the old farts, I'm waiting for some of you young turds to start buying my carbines that I have way too much money in and can't bear to sell for less..........heh, heh. The prices I put on those I wanted to sell didn't excite very many guys. Have done several gun shows and sold one each time; heck, that didn't pay for the table. Had a good time tho.......

    Ulflyer,

I have been slowly buying what I can from those who have what I need. Divorce has its good sides and its bad sides.... I finally got some peace and quiet, no hassle over gun collecting, and don't have to listen to nagging about nothing.... But the money that would normally go to buying stuff from all you old farts followed her out the door! You are welcome to it if you can get it away from her and her lawyer. Like they say "freedom isn't free" But I did get to keep my guns!!!! ...

So explain to me again why you can't sell to me a 100% correct service grade Rock-ola for $499? Come on, Grandpa, I got kids to feed!

Seriously, I have really enjoyed learning alot from everyone over the last couple of years. Its not only the carbines, but the great people that make this such an addictive hobby! Don't worry, I'll find a way to pass it on to the next generation, too.... these guns and their history should outlive us all.

    Bubba,
Do you still have the picture of the freshly refinished stocks?
I recall they were hanging up right from the trigger housing cut out.
    Thinking they were all WRA.
Also seem to recall they all had a very similar color.

You just have to love a nice STOCK PILE !

    Cheers,
    Charlie-painter777

    P.S. I'll E-mail you back tonight.

No, I still don't count dotts. Everytime I think I have one figured out someone else says it is something else. I was thinking of sending a few hundred butt plates to BQ (the man of few words) to sort them out. I would pay for his time just the find out which is which. Late Winchester, What do you mean late Winchester. Missing dotts on top, missing dotts at 4 o'clock, missing dotts at 3 o'clock. Cut dotts, straight lines, four on top, two or four on bottom, six on top. I am tired thinking about them.

Rick Bicon's work. You don't see them but he also did matching HG for each stock.
These are the same stocks. I sent this group to him ten + years ago.
I sent him a second bunch later and don't have a picture of them. I think they may have been all Winchester.
They are red, he stained them. These were typical Blue Sky import, drug behind a tank stocks.
