Add to that little problem with it's supposed to be a Colt frame made in 1918, yet sat around until 1943 when Remington was supposed to have built it into a complete pistol? Huh? Last I knew, Remington production in 1943 would have been 1911 A's, wouldn't they?

Maybe some noob will buy this guy's story, but nobody who knows squat about guns would. That is what makes me mad, cheats put stuff out there, and flat screw people over. How they can sleep at night amazes me. I guess thieves are wired different than most folks, huh?

It's a shame that false advertising has come to be accepted in collectible guns. Just about anything the seller wants to say is OK.

The grips are fakes also. They have the look of tiger striping or grain to them. Very common rebuild. Nice looking, but $2500.00 worth of nice looking? Not hardly. Value? Between $700.00 and $900.00 at the outside.

The pistol is what it is : A very nice rebuild -- except for the grips , of course. Which makes me wonder if the finish or the markings have been humped. Maybe not , the sales pitch isn't particularly sophisticated .
