A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... +1 on Eddy. I would also add, Bill Ricca, Orion7, USArmory in North Carolina, The collector source in North Carolina for sights, and barrel bands , slides and such. I have heard good things about Nick Dailey in Colorado, although I have never bought anything from him yet.

    WOW! This is weird -

I've been trying to remember a guy's name that I bought parts from (I remember it now) almost 10 years ago and he sent me authentic parts and shipped quickly back then. Had a $20 minimum purchase. I couldn't remember his name but remembered that he used to email a parts list to me occasionally of what he currently had in stock.

I just searched on an external hard drive where I saved files from an old computer trying to find his parts list so I could find his name and ask if he's still around. I never put it together, but on his parts list he also had his (then new) eBay User ID
It turned out to be a seller who's been selling bogus 1943 USMC marked M1icon carbine slings on eBay for several years as authentic M1 carbine slings and I didn't realize it was the same guy until just now! (I remember the ebay name)

He sells repro parts on eBay and lists them as repro. He sold the bogus slings as being authentic and he knew they weren't, but he continued to sell them because they were often selling for $100 or so month after month. I used to check this seller's completed auctions a few years ago and he'd have sold as many as 10 or so per month.

I just checked his user ID and he has one of the slings on auction still. (He has a bogus disclaimer now, but it's under WWII carbine slings)

I would have recommended him from my dealings with him back then but I can't now. I can't judge honesty if it's to a degree of the lure of money

(He must have CASES of these slings to still be selling them!)

NEW UNUSED M1 CARBINE SLING IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. SLING IS STAMPED USMC BOYT -43. AGE AND ORIGIN OF SLING IS UNKNOWN. SOME COLLECTORS SAY ORIGINAL, SOME SAY NEW PRODUCTION, SOME SAY FOR RIESLING MACHINE GUN. WHAT IS KNOWN IS THAT THIS IS A NICE LOOKING SLING, MADE WELL AND WILL LOOK FANTASTIC ON YOUR CARBINE.

I've dealt with Eddie, and I agree, a class act. His parts are exactly as described, he lets you know what's going on, and ships quickly. I'd love to meet the guy and purchase him a beverage of his choice just for the conversation, I'd bet he's forgot more about carbines than I'll ever know.

I've dealt with Nick Daley as well, and he's a class act as well. Other folks mentioned in this thread, some I've dealt with, some I haven't yet, but I'm sure we'll do business sometime in the near future.

And I offer my thanks to the great folks here for warning me off rip-offs like George. I first found this forum when I first started getting into carbines. Had it not been for the advice I got here, George likely would have got some of my money. For that, I thank you guys, I've never got anything but absolute respect here, no matter how stupid a question I posed.

Thanks all of you for being the true gentlemen you are!

Eddy is about one of the best you will find. No BS, no guessing, all good! I have bought a number of time before and I would not hesitate for even a second to buy from Eddy again!

When I first started restoring about 5 years ago I bought a lot of parts from Al-Sam-Bob on Ebay. They've lately gone over to the Dark Side I've heard.
