A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. The rifle is fugly, but I tried to keep it a bit cleaner and went with the alternative - bloody ugly.

Speaking of dating, do you remember hearing about "doing a dingo"? Wake up in the morning, and she's so ugly you chew your arm off at the shoulder to get out without waking her.

Strictly speaking, it's "feudin' banjos" , and you aren't a million miles from where it was filmed

Sometimes, I get the feeling that the people they're talking about in the film, as mentioned by Marty and Dave, come from some of the big estates around here.....................

Rest assured we've got them round here too......we're only a few miles from the Fens, and they have webbed toes up there, and are still in flared trousers from the first time round

Look on the bright side, the charger bridge and backsight ears are still there. Could be a lot worse.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

On a practical note, I think you would have to have a 2 foot long head just to achieve a sight picture with a proper cheek weld as high as the scope is above the stock comb.
You place your chin on the comb of the stock with the pad over your adam's apple. Swallow and squeeze.
