Is this normal?

That may be the way I do it.I'm from the older generation,all this computer and posting pics are just about beyond me.When I was growing up we didn't even have hand held caculators.Heck My 9 year old grandson knows more about computers than I do.I trained on a Garand in boot camp if that tells you anything.

The year after I graduated High School, next class was allowed to use calculators.
I had to Pay a premium to my 2 kids for each and every time they helped me on a computer, this also included how to turn it on....etc. I was scared to death I'd hit a key and ruin or eliminate something important.
I must have needed quite a bit of help as their now both finished with college!
Long way from being a Computer Pro myself. But make good headway with this right finger and left thumb on the shift key.
Digital camera was about like the computer. I've learned to use the Macro setting for real close ups. Some being better than I can see with a loop.

Now if I could learn to send a Text Message on my phone

5 years ago (?) Harlan was kind enough to walk me thru posting pictures and I wrote it down. Still have that original note here by my side.

I was talking with some younger guys a few months back about math in school. Trig and Calculus. They asked what calculator I used. I told them a slide rule and it cost me big bucks back then too. They laughed and said I was old.
I have never sent a text message. I block them from coming in on my cell phone too. If someone wants me, call.
Kids have it a little easier now a days in that regard.
But I do like these new digital cameras. Instant pictures, and I don't mean a Polaroid. You can take it, download it, edit it, and send it on to someone else in less the 10 minutes.
By the way, Harlan has helped me in the past too. I wonder how smart his britches are?

Well,I got my carbine all apart only to discover that my camera isn't good enough to take close up pics.What looks clear in the camera isn't once you snap the shutter.It comes out blurred.But the good news is that I got it all back together and when I pull the trigger,it releases like its supposed to.So I learned one thing today anyway so it wasn't wasted taking it apart.

Do you have a macro mode? If not, maybe you can back up a bit, then zoom as much as possible while keeping it focused. More megapixels helps too. When you put your card into the computer you can then edit. Crop and zoom while keeping focus. Might help some.

It was macro mode I was trying to use,It works fine until you get down to things like numbers or letters.It seems like it won't go that small.

Here's some illustrated instructions I put together that should help if you want to use the Photobucket method of showing photos. You can add all the photos you want to in one post.

I did a screen capture of each step. I thought showing each step might make it easier than trying to explain it using computer jargon. At the bottom of the instruction page I also put together a .pdf of the same instructions. Give it a little time to open and each page is full screen size. You can also print the .pdf pages once they're open and keep them beside your computer if needed.

sometimes you need to "trick" the camera's eye for focus. hold a piece of paper having some drawing or something on it on top of the part you are trying to take a closeup of and use that for focus. then remove it to snap the picture. consult the instruction manual as to how close your "macro" mode can take you if you have one. a tripod helps to eliminate blur caused by motion of the camera during the time shutter is open while you press the button. a time delay (i.e. a "feature" so you can appear in your own photo) helps eliminate this too

another way as Jim says above is to take the picture at a distance using the full resolution of the camera so the depth of field captures everything in focuse. then use your favorite photo editor (e.g. irfanview) to crop and resize.

Go to wamart etc., leave film and go back later to pick up pic's. Get them put on CD so you can put them in PC. Now 12-24 hrs later you can see if you have any good pic's. I still have my first good camera, a Yashica Electro 35 G. I bought it coming home from my first tour in 1968. A few othesr laying around as well. I actually think the pictures are a tiny bit sharper with film, especially B&W. But when auto focus came out my wife all of a sudden took clear pictures. Before they were horrible. Turns out she had an eye problem.

Digital is just "Too Easy Drill Sergeant".
