I have a 1917 enfield that is chromed. It has the best barrel out of all of mine. I found that when I shot it the chrome started flaking off around the muzzle.
The parade rifles start to grow on you after a while, and then you'll want a bayonet for it if you buy it.

My 1917 was chromed, however the barrel was only put into the tank 8" from the muzzle and 3" past the receiver so there was a portion of the barrel that was not in the tank. The chamber took the chrome. The barrel had no rifling at all as it had fired blanks and replaced with a Criterion. Shoots like a dream and the chrome furniture with the black barrel looks neat.
