Harlan was right about the "dimples." Compare those on the "CA specials" in Post #2 with Ifpdlt's in Post #1. - Bob

Well, I've seen him sell fake type I rear sights for $160.00. Yeah, George has real stuff and I would bet it goes for way big bucks! And then, is it really real???

Not really, the fun is doing the research and acquiring items that you know - from the knowledge you've gained - are real. A little homework never hurt anyone and makes you a better collector.

But, we all get taken a few times somewhere along the way. At least I know I have. It just happens.

I've gotten taken a few times too. Helps reinforce the lessons!
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

Precisely. We all "get taken" occasionally, it's part of the education, just don't let it happen too often. Learn from the mistake.

The last time I was "taken" on sling, the seller had a picture of an original (1960s Vietnam era sling), but sent me a cheap piece of cr@p that was a funny green with shiny metal fittings!
