It's actually "Gardone V.T." V.T: stands for Val Trompia. Since the decline of Brescia as a manufacturing area for guns, Gardone is the "hotspot" for guns, being not only the center of a cluster of gunmakers, especially the BP-replica industry, but also the location of the Italian

Well that's about twice what I paid for "Roma", my "bella figura" Fucile 91/41.

If you can find a prettier Carcano, go for it!

I don't get here quite as often as I like, but their is a book that is being released about Carcano's in English on another gun forum. It's on gunboards.
Price wise, it is really up to what you are willing to pay for one, and different areas command different prices.
I actually just picked up a Finnish
marked M38 in 7.35 at a local auction for $125, and last month at the same auction house I picked up a set of 7.35 dies, and a few months ago I picked up a non-folding bayonet for the M38 model. I know it's a bit backwards to buying things but that's just how it worked out.
cmonster please post up some pictures as that is the easiest way to help you.
