Love the photo anyway. I like the look of the uniform at the time and the hard look of the US soldier of that era. These and other photos of that era show a "rough man" that stands ready to do violence...well, you get the picture.

He has a M-1907 sling on his rifle, so the photo dates between 1907 and whenever the solid handguards were replaced.
