In my case,



JASCO, covered with foil to prevent it from drying out, removed the marking

In retrospect, I sort of regret that I removed it though.

Most painted rack numbers are not USGI, so they need to go.

Just curious, where did you hear that? Does that apply to M1 Garands as well?
