A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. It is great to see photos of these rifles in the light of day, so to speak. I can't afford one either, but am curious as to the price to be placed on them. My 1903 Rem is in the 185,000 range and might come close in condition (NFS though).
    And thanks, RtL, for posting.

I too would like to know what all you folks out here in 03 land think one of these rifles are worth ? I have three of the original Red Star Rem 03's. A few months back I put all three up for sale here as a package deal. Had know idea what they were worth on the present market so asked $5000 for the package of three just to see what would happen. No serious enquires on the package but many people want individuale pieces. So, all of you out there, what do you think these rifles should sell for ?

"Just to see what would happen?" Does this mean you really were not going to sell them? You just wanted to see if someone accepted your offer?

If you were willing to let all three go for 5K then I would ask 2K for them as individuals..for the additional inconvenience to you

Again RtL or JB can give you a better idea of the true value I suspect.

    Regards,
    Jim
