Except.........many thousands of these rifles were purchased in 1914 by NZ(M&D on butt, C14 on tang) for 1 pound?/dollar? each, along with many from England
(E14 on tang) some of these rifles went ashore with NZ'ers at Gallipoli, so many were used in WW1 & then later in WW2 by the NZ Home Guard.
Whilst many can be found today in good condition, the same cant be said for the barrels.
