Funny, I used to have UF55 A25 once, and it had the Parker Hale stamp on the receiver ring.

Can't argue with an auction I guess; supply and demand.

It's getting so someone should start making them again.

At the last Reno gun show there was one for $1400. Didn't sell.

Reno isn't a particulalry affluent area though, plus you can own proper guns there in NV, not a lot of the neutered stuff we see in California, whihc means interest in milsurps ins't the highest

newcastle, I beg to differ. Lou Fascio's Reno Big Show is the largest gun show in the west coast area, is heavally attended and draws it's crowd from all over Ca and other surrounding states. Lots of milsurps and lots of buyers. Obviously you have never attended.

That's not quite correct Taff. I have one still wrapped up and sealed in the wrapping. Never been to the proof house in its life. So it can be done and lawfully owned.

You are quite correct Peter you can own and even shoot an unproved firearm in the UK, what you can't do is sell it. "The proof acts lay down that no small arm may be sold, exchanged or exported, exposed or kept for sale or exchange or pawned unless and until it has been fully proved and duly marked" Offence is commited by the seller not the buyer (Source, Notes on the proof of shotguns and other small arms, issued by the Britishicon Proof Authorities.)
I assume that you hold yours on your personal F.A.C. which is legal and complies with the proof laws but as Simon P stated at the start of all of this when the two he knew about came to be sold they had to be unwrapped for proof testing which turned them into just another pristine No4 Mk2 rifle with a pile of sticky paper and grease. No matter how you look at it in the UK a wrapped rifle can't increase in value as in other parts of the world because it HASto unwrapped before it can be sold

  10. Thank You to Buccaneer For This Useful Post:

I've exported hundreds back to Englandicon and a few to Australiaicon. I had to buy one last year in the wrap to set back in my own collection. In the wrap it will stay. Of course, I have one someone else unwrapped and cleaned that I can shoot if I want. Of the hundreds I've had through the shop, I've never unwrapped one!
